Biggest Stealth Mission of My Life

So I got a hamster today. Reasons why this wasn't as easy as it sounds

  1. Never had a live pet before. Used fish, yes (used...I know. Weird). My first living, breathing, animal I can hold and cuddle with.

  2. My parents do not approve. So I decided not to tell them I was getting one. Super stealth needed on my part. Laura's too, because she helped. Anyway, so we went to Petsmart and I chose the most adorable little tan hamster (with a white stripe across its back). Got a starter kit, blah blah blah blah. GOT HOME AND MY MOM WAS THERE AHHH AHHH PANIC AT THE DISCO! Laura hid the cage under her arm in a plastic bag (I had the hamster in a box in my bag). My mom asked what it was, and Laura said "It's a present for my cousin" and we ran upstairs to set it up. THE CAGE WAS MAKING SO MUCH NOISE I was so scared my mom would just walk in. But if she did, we had plenty of excuses ready. After the hamster got settled in the cage (haven't settled on a name yet, too many contenders) we realized that when she ran on her wheel it made the most suspicious sound ever and my mom was SURE to notice it in my room and would check it out when I wasn't home. Then Laura told me I HAD to tell my mom today. Laura stayed up in my room while Amy and I went to talk to my mom in the kitchen. I had a speech prepared that Laura told me, except I didn't bank on there being tears coming out of my eyes. I really don't even know why I was crying really. WOW I AM JUST A BABBLING BROOK HERE! Point is that I've got a hamster, a happy sister (see how happy here), an upset mother, and a clueless father.

girls just wanna dance

new wallpaper :)

sooo...has anyone noticed my latest obsession?

When I read a book with a slipcover, I like to take it off for four (4) reasons.

1) Its less of a STRUGGLE. You know, making sure the slipcover is always aligned with the book and not slipping off as the name suggests it would do.

2) KEEPS THE SLIPCOVER CLEAN. Durr. Instead of being crumpled and muddied coming in and out of my bag etc., it sits pretty on my bookshelf until I am done the book.

3) It adds a bit of mystery to the cover. So when you are reading on the bus etc., people will wonder what it is I am reading, and is it so fascinating that I must read it on a moving vehicle?

4) I love the plainness. It makes the book look quite old-fashioned and put-together. Like Im reading Jane Eyre or something, when really all I am reading is The Year of Secret Assignments (one of my favorite books).

I just realized, a slipcover is called a jacket, too. In case you are confused.

Dream

I had a dream the other day involving time travel and familial doubt. I'm pretty sure it was symbolic for something.

Anyway, my cousin Maegan and I found this...instruction sheet of sorts, with a spell for time travel. We tried it out in my backyard and it took us to like, the 9th century or something really far back like that. We came back to our time and told our families. They actually believed us (someone said something about meeting Alther again. Alther is a ghost wizard in a book I read. Actually, I'm pretty sure it was Maegan's mom who said that), so we made them come to my backyard. I was getting ready to do the spell when my mom said that she wanted to read it. I said "okay, here you go, read it well". So she read it and nothing happened and then every one started arguing about how we told lies and Maegan and I were just ... staring because we knew we were telling the truth! I took the instruction sheet and read EVERYTHING on it, including the advertisements at the bottom (I know, ads?). There was a sort of earthquake and Maegan and I looked at each other while every one else was still arguing. We through a space in my backyard door and ended up on the driveway. Everything looked the same, except for the cars. They were all the old fashioned cars from like, the thirties. And then, lo and behold, this guy from my elementary school was there with his friend, and we were all tripping out, because it was just weird. And we grabbed our bikes and pedaled around my neighbourhood THE END.

Thanks, Maetangela, for believing in me

wallpaper

This is my desktop background. Ain't it lovely?

It was this is before, but then I photoshopped it. I would still like the lower one better, if it weren't such a frou frou pink.

I can't believe I'm going to say this...

But I approve of what Miley Cyrus is wearing in this picture.

She obviously didn't choose it herself though (cause if she did, the tank top would be lower, the skirt would be shorter, and she would not have even THOUGHT about leg warmers on heels).

JUST STOP.

I do not approve.
I don't think this is the right look for Taylor Swift, AT ALL.
I could be biased, since I am in a love-hate relationship with her...
Cocoperez.com says that "she rocks it! Just like a mini GaGa! She should definitely do more shoots like this!"

Ya...no.

all i have to say is...

Rihanna needs to stop trying to Gaga-ize herself.
